There were several small shops that specialized in things like MS Word and Excel and the courses ran 2 to 5 days, and then there were the continuing ed programs at the local high school, maybe 5 three-hour evening sessions, one a week.

What I'm thinking is that you could research these firms locally, and maybe find enough work to live on.
