This section is provided as a way for members of OpenIT/Roundtable to exchange information about job openings, contracts, short term gigs, and business
services.
You may post contact information for your own availability, or post your company's contact information for business services that may be of interest to members. You can do this as an individual contractor of any type (even a so called "wanna be", hey, everyone had to start somewhere) or you can be running some type of service.
If you have never participated on this message board in the past, then provide full contact information in your post, including either an email address or a URL.
NEW COMMENT GUIDELINES (net-cop crap)
1) No political discussions here. They will be deleted with no warning. We have a place for that.
2) (new!) Do not attach negative comments to any job or service availability postings. They will also be deleted with no explanation. Example: don't post follow ups speculating snidely about the work culture of a job opportunity.
It's OK to post an on-topic follow up question about the opportunity or the service. But the point of this section is to dispense commercial information, not to tear apart businesses. Again, we have other sections for that.
Bear in mind that most members here are contractors and full time employees, so most people likely to see your information here are not in a position to do hiring. However! Someone here may have some pull and can help you get a foot in the door. Likewise, services that could be of interest to contractors or IT employees is reasonable.
If you have participated in the board in the past and are recognizable as a user here, you are welcome to use this section as you wish for its intended purpose. Unless this section is overrun (not likely) there are no quotas or numbers of postings allowed per time period.
If you need a posting deleted, change the subject title to "DELETE ME" or similar wording and one of our mods will blow it away ASAP.
As always, abuse will be dealt with. Postings that are out of bounds include:
- Postings from someone never seen here before with no contact information and with what appears to be an anonymous handle.
- Services of no specific interest to board members, posted by non members. (IE: don't be a first time poster here advertising a product that has nothing to do with IT. The post will be deleted and you may be banned.
- MLM of any kind
- Physical merchandise ads, unless the applicability to computer contracting or computer based employment is very high.
- Warez and pirated/illegitimate software
- "Crap" - illegal & grey market pharma.
